Blood flow is important, because it carries heat from the center of the
body to the skin (or, in winter, it doesn't). Sweating, of course,
carries away heat. You need water for both.

Plus, if it feels good, why not?
Yes.
I remember on Cheers, Cliff or Norm recommended hot coffee in the
summer, to open the pores. When asked, "Why do you drink beer?" They
said, "What else are you going to do with it?"

Never heard of it - so it is not accurate?
No, it's not accurate because it is not accurate.

I didn't say *just* blood pressure.
I know, but it was the only one you mentioned.

I wasn't sure what you meant. Blood pressure is important for kidneys (if it isn't high enough, the kidneys won't work at all).
Anyway, it pretty complicated.
If blood pressureIt is not nearly that simple. The kidneys also need to regulate sodium
is high, kidneys excrete more water. You need to replenish that.

and potassium levels as well as acid/base balance.
Who said simple? I am not talking about what the kidneys *also* need
to do. I am talking about the relationship between high blood
pressure, kidneys reaction and drinking water.
No one.
Actually, I don't remember if kidneys respond to high blood pressure directly or only through hormones.
Not over hours. You might not feel well on a hot summer's day, but itRemoving the waste build-up that can slow you down and make you feelkeeps body system functioning properlyWhich means?

isn't because you haven't been drinking enough to get your kidneys peeing.
Anytime, way, or how you can get rid of toxins and waste is a good
thing. Peeing is the natural process in getting read of them.
You know, there are people who will drink their first urine of the day. Personally, I figure if my kidneys have been busy all night making it, I don't want it back. ;-)
I disagree about getting rid of toxins at any time. Like when I am on the bus or train. ;-)
There is a lot of homeopaths and others who talk about getting rid of toxins. The thing is that our bodies are good at getting rid of toxins and toxins don't usually build up to cause us to feel ill or make us sick. This is based on an out-of-date understanding of the body.

If people do not drink enough water on a semi-daily basis they have aI agree. They should have access to water. The best way to determine
diminished ability to feel thirst. That is when the dehydration can
set in. I am not advocating drinking 8 glasses daily, just some and
do be able to have it when wanted/needed. And if the middle-schoolers
are at school running hard at recess and studying during class-time,
by lunch they probably will grab whatever they can get and the choice
would probably be juice or soda if they haven't had anything to drink
all day.
But you say your kids would reach for that no matter how much water
they consume. So this then doesn't pertain to you.
that they are drinking enough is that their urine is not too concentrated.
