I think OP may be more proud than worried, but I've been known to misread
things.
not quite :) boys stop growing after 22 yrs, it is his rate of growth
that make me pondering. He gains 5-6 inches in the last 12 months
alone. He's in pre-puberty stage, pimples and deeper voice and now a
very thin mustaches!!

Rate of growth doesn't sound unusual for a 11 year old boy. My brother grew nearly 6 inches in the summer holiday when he was about that age. (mid July to beginning September). I remember us laughing at him when he tried his school uniform in "for size". You could practically see him growing.

I remember when I was nearing 11 and began 6th grade, I grew so much during the preceding year, that the 5th graders looked like midgets. When I had lunch with them (5th and 1/2 the 6th graders ate lunch together), I felt like I was in the wrong place for a few weeks.
