By the way, it's also important to say the right things.
The right diplomatic words to biodad to let him know
(if adoption does occur) that he's still wanted and important
and irreplaceable as part of his daughter's life.
I can't think of the right words, and it may be hard
for OP because of the various acrimonious issues in
the relationship, but I think it's important.
