I think I'd
rather find a way to manage a crib in our room if need be over putting a
baby in with DS, who will be almost 6 by the time this baby would be in her
own crib and out of a bassinet - something I will NOT due mainly because DS
is in school. He really doesn't need to be up if there's a baby up once or
twice during the night and then be expected to function properly during the
day for school and just in general at home.
My experience is that kids just sleep through their baby sibling's night
wakings.
If you don't want to put the baby in with your son, that's fine: but
I've known cases where it worked out just fine, and the older child's
sleep was not disturbed.
