I just got back from taking my son to his 1 year old check up. he is 3044.5 inches is huge ;-P
inches tall, 21 1/2lbs but when she measured his head it was only
44.5inches around. the Ped showed me his curve in his chart and he has
dropped below the curve what can I do to help get his brain development up.
We play all kinds of games and do all kinds of things with him and his
sister who will be 3 in august. I'm a bit concerned that his brain is not
developing properly.
If there is a problem causing his brain to be small, and hence his head
(which I doubt) playing mind games will make no difference. Head size does
not reflect intelligence.
I doubt there is anything you can do to increase the head size. Sorry!
The most likely reason is that for some genetic reason his head is small. Is
your head small, or was it small as a child?
The things I think they'd check for is that the fontella (sp?) fusing too
soon. They would probably have checked that while you were there, even if
you didn't notice.
What did the Dr. say? Are they looking at further investigations? That's
probably your best guide as to if anything's going on. If he's in the normal
development range I think they'll probably not be very concerned, although
they may want to keep an eye on it.
Debbie
