This reminds me ...

Dad tells me that his grandma (who raised him) always kept marbles in
the freezer. The second time she had to go in to get someone out of
bed, she'd pull back the sheet and throw the marbles in -- which you
couldn't get away from, because they'd just roll with you.

Couldn't you just push them out of bed?

Maybe and maybe not - some teenagers are bigger than their parent.
Plus if you just push them out of bed, unless you stand by the bed
like an avenging angel at the gate of Eden, they will get back in
there.

grandma Rosalie

I assume she meant, "Can't you just push the marbles out of the bed?"
rather than "Can't you just push the teenagers oug of the bed?"

If she meant the teens -- no, I can't imagine that I could have pushed
my teens out of bed -- plus, the physical struggle with them doesn't
appeal to me!
