My daughter often misses the school bus. I end up driving her to
school. I have tried waking her up by knocking on door. I have taken
away dvd, MP3 player, tv you name it. Finally I started going in her
room in the morning and staying there until she is dressed. This work
for a while but today she went back to sleep after I left and missed
her bus again.
She sounds extremely sleepy. Maybe she is sleep deprived. Maybe she's not
a morning person. Maybe she has a physical ailment. You could try one of
those lights that turn up slowly in the morning to mimic the sun. The
natural sunlight always wakes me more refreshed than the jolt of an alarm
clock. Have her go to bed earlier. If she does not have an illness,
perhaps you can make her bedtime earlier and earlier until she can get out
of the house on time. That could be quite an incentive.
