Hi,
My 3 yo reverses part of the word occasionally (I know there's got to
be a technical word for this) for example, she says chicken instead of
kitchen like "mummy is in chicken". She doesn't do this all the time.
She also does this to other words, i can't recall any of those right
now.
How common is this for this age group? Is this a developmental thing
for verbal skills or is this something else altogether?
Thanks.
OMG - this is hilarious that you would post this! DS (26 mos) JUST
started doing this with chicken and kitchen. He has a Baby Einstein
video that does the sign and word for kitchen and he says "chicken"
every time. But when he says "chicken" for a chicken he says "chicken,
balk, balk!" Hilarious!
I think it's totally normal. It also reminds me of Daisy in Girl,
Interruped. "It has an eat-in Chicken!"
