Thanks for caring/asking. I"m pretty open about it, it's the way that
I deal best with crises. I have thyroid cancer. Having been on a
learning curve for the last two months, yeah, it's "the good cancer,
the one you want if you have to get cancer." Thank you, I'd prefer no
cancer. And....it was found quite by accident. I had horrid neck
pains that turned out to be osteoarthrtitis ( let it go for about 4
months before finally visiting my GP, being sure that my neck hurt due
to the stress of extra work). In the xray of my neck, they found an
enlarged thyroid. One thing led to another from ultrasound to biopsy
to endocrinologist and surgeon suggesting removing a peach sized tumor.
Turns out there was cancer in the growth and a few other nodules had a
bit of cancer too. Next up is radioactive iodine treatment and an
insane couple of months ahead of me.

Sending along my prayers, best wishes, and get well vibes. I doubt I'm
sufficiently local to help you out, but please send an email if you
need a shoulder to rant on.
