That's because you hate eggs, so you don't care -- they do need careful
cooking.

I can improve your Easter egg yield, though.

Put the eggs in the saucepan and put in cold water to about an inch over the
eggs. Put on the stove without the lid and heat (not full bore) to boiling.
When the eggs are boiling, cover them (make sure hte steam vent is closed) and
take them off the heat. Set your timer for 10 mins. When it rings, drain
your eggs and plunge them into cold water (replace the water when it warms
up). You now have perfect hard-boiled eggs. If you want to eat them, crack
them all over and keep in a bowl of cold water in the fridge. They will be
easier to peel.
