Yes, I understand that. There are other symptoms though with a
child like dgs.
Most children this age certainly initiate social contact. They point
at things with their index fingers. They reach for toys and indicate
what they want with gestures and grunting if not with words.

Dgs didn't play *appropriately* with toys. He did not explore the
world really - he *stimmed*. He didn't walk *to* places. He walked
back and forth in (sometimes pushing his push toy, sometimes just
walking for the sake of walking). You would have to see him to
understand just how delayed he is compared to other children his
age.
