Firstly, I think you are going to have to get used to having a small
son. He was relatively small when he was born, he is relatively small
now, and he may well continue to be relatively small as he grows up.
That in itself is not a problem - it is just the way he is.
Secondly, my guess is that he doesn't like breakfast: lots of people don't.
I'd be inclined to offer him a small meal first thing, with a mid-morning
snack, when he has woken up a bit.
