I don't think I've ever felt the need to be laid-back, but I have
reminded myself in a few situations that it really isn't that big of a
deal. Although your situation would stress me out greatly.

I don't ever remember encountering that, but I DO think they should
have been designed better! With baffles in the ceiling to absorb
sound. Noise just reverberates off every surface.
