Tiger Scouts can be great, or it can totally suck. (Please excuse my
language!) :-)
When I was little, I was in Tiger scouts for a _brief_ amount of time.
I learned about it from an assembly at school, and I wanted to try it.
My parents thought it would be great too, because I was pretty much a
loner and didn't make friends too easily. Well, the whole thing
pretty much flopped from the beginning. None of the parents,
including mine, seemed to have a CLUE as to what we should be doing,
so the meetings generally consisted of the adults sitting around the
kitchen table eating snacks and shooting the bull, while us kids ran
around and did whatever. I knew most of the other kids there, but I
wasn't really friends with any of them, while they all seemed to know
each other pretty well, so it wasn't long before I said I didn't want
to go anymore. Such was my experiences with Scouts.
OTOH, my older brother was in Boy Scouts, and he did really well with
that for years. I guess it all depends on whether the "leaders" know
what they're doing.
