22 and counting



As of last Friday, 22 FDIC insured banks in this country have failed. At
this pace, we'll surely pass last years total failures at just a little over
150. Don't be surprised if more get a failure notice today, Friday.

My view is these banks are underfunded with deposits because:

1. People taking more of their money out of the bank.

2. People aren't bringing home the paychecks like they did.

With consumer spending slowing because of increased gasoline prices, there
will certainly be a slowdown in certain areas of the economy.
