Re: Chevy VOlt 230 MPG!! Thats impossible???!!!????

That is BS on the part of Chevy. Pluggable, then you go 40 miles and you
are on engine the rest of the way.

With the Prius you are on gas and electric.

Battery technology is not such that you can go much more than 40 miles on
battery alone. Plug in Prius is a bunch of bull also. You get an
additional battery pack to make it plug in. I have a battery pack on my
Husky electric drill too., Won't drive a car too far.

Electric only for more than 40 miles is a dream. After 40 miiles, the Volt
is a gasoline powered shit mobile.

the Prius is a shitmobile the minute you start to move.

3 cents a mile. Blows away TOYOTAS numberw. But still to be EPA
certified SO stay tuned,,But IF this is true. GM is onto a winner IMO

Got that tingly feeling running up your leg? I do believe that they are
averaging a lot of things that won't really happen. Such as assuming
that you are closer than 20 miles to your work so driving back and forth
to work will be free of gas milage.. Also going to the local store will
not need gas. So if you drive 60 miles to the kids house, then you would
have to use gas for 80 miles... etc. 230 is very generous. You have to
realize this is government accounting and can't be trusted.... Kind of
like our deficit numbers....

You can google websites that explain how to mod a Prius so it's pluggable
and get better than 230. Toyota can build that car any time it wants; the
problem is that the cost of the car then goes up pretty close to where the
Volt is expecting to be.

GM is making a bet that people will spend 40K for a pluggable hybrid.
Toyota is betting that they'll prefer a car for 22K that's not pluggable.
After the Volt's been available for six months and all the people with the
tingly leg feelings buy theirs, we'll know who was right by the ongoing
sales for the following 12 months.
