Obambi is trying to push us past socialism into communism. We have seen
what a failed system that is. He is doing it by bankrupting our nation.
That is the fastest way to force change. The sheep in america are

go up.
If the interest rate goes up, more homes will foreclose. If more home
foreclose, no one will buy retail anything. We are toast

And the market is going up. Wow, what a system we have.

R U You always so upbeat and positive... <LOL>
I hear that all your favorite right winger radio and TV personalities
will have a ship cruise aimed at promoting all this 'crap' you love so
much.. Called ship of fools.. and it will slowly cruise the Somali coast
looking to be hijacked so they can make some point... Bush will be guest
captain.. Cheney will be in charge of the shooting clay pigeons off the
stern.. Ship of Fools tour..
News Flash -- Bush wasn't a conservative. He's not welcome on any ship
sponsored by "right wingers." His economy was well to the left of
Clinton's even prior to TARP.
He was socially conservative. That's all that counted for alot of the
folks on the right. Remember you guys have 2 different flavors of
conservative over there. Maybe to fiscal conservatives he's not
allowed on your ship, but for social conservatives he gets to wear the
captains hat.
Don't fall prey to the media caricature that opposition to Obama =
agreement with Bush or the GOP over the last eight years. It's nonsense
to think that way.
Yes, there were a few on the right who didn't like his economic
policy, but those folks weren't able to get enough support from your
fellow right leaners to stop him. So in effect, as a group, the right
supported Bush, it's not a caricature, it's what happened in the GOP
controlled congress for 6 years.
This makes sense to me. Mr. Bush swayed to whatever music was being
played on the right. Unfortunately Clinton's passion for big business
was not curtailed some either. It Barney Frank'furter and Dobb that
pushed for the easy-loans for people with NO ability to pay wasn't it?
What the heck are voters thinking when they keep men like Barney Frank
in Congress?
They're thinking he brings home the bacon and sits on important
comittees and if they put someone else in there he won't have the
power to get so much done for the locals.
I am so tired of lifetime jobs screwing up things.
I think our system of representation is now outdated. I want qualified
people not POPULAR people running this Country.
And who is it that will decide how the term 'qualified' is defined?
I guess what is bugging me is that: Are these people the best we have
willing to serve for the public good?
No. They are the ones that want job enough to fight for it. The best
we have to fill the slots would have to not want the job as a
prerequisite to identifying themselves as fit to hold office.
Yes all good congress people know
who votes for them and serves them first... I never liked politics or
trusted politicians much..
Perhaps, but the alternative is a non participatory form of gov't.
Democracy sucks, but it's the best of alot of suckier alternatives.
Well this is certainly true enough.. The spending of money we do not
have for anything but national security bothers me greatly. Our
congress and our state leaders seem disconnected from realities of
simple economics. We have developed a huge social welfare system that
is a parasite of entitlements that we just cannot afford any longer. We
have a society of takers who have given up on the system and now just
suck it like a titty in a babies mouth. All nourishment for them comes
from this titty. It is just sucking, and not giving back in any way..
It seems that all this is coming home and wants more entitlements.. as
the titty slowly dries up...
I don't agree. I think most Americans are just as interesed in being
personally successful as they ever were. I think that stereotype you
mention simply doesn't exist to a significant extent. I think that's
just an excuse to turn our backs on people who need a temporary hand
up. There's no real numbers or evidence that people just want to be
taken care of and countries that support their down on their luck
folks don't seem to collapse at any alarming rate either. It's mostly
theory and scare tactics.
I am referring mainly to the social welfare net and the continued
representation by these 'half-wits' whom I feel after two to three terms
start forming fiefdoms of power and influences that sometimes fun afoul
and contrary to the best interests of their constitutes and the country
itself. By using funds of taxpayers to gain favor and influence both in
their public role and through later lobbying the taxpayer is screwed,
blued, and tattooed. IMO.

Secondly I am attempting to complain about the huge waste, abuse, and
outright fraud in the social services, social medical repayments, and
the policing of these systems for abuse from both the client and the
servicer/contractor. With better policing and having a tough standard
for services and a follow audit of services provided we could better
audit for items such as the phony billings and monitor the user to see
if they are indeed using the medication or simply selling it for money.

There are so many games played in that system it is crazy. I have heard
of a number of scams used to extract this EASY MONEY for the service
providers. I feel ripped off when I see waste in the system. Before
they come at me for more money I want to feel that they are using what
they get from me in a manner that meets the criteria set forth in public
record.

I have nothing against helping those who truly need help. I am against
the inappropriate users and abusers, crooks and thieves, sucking off my
tax dollars under false pretenses and power struggles regarding
re-election buy-offs, and poor auditing of these social programs for
effectiveness and other validations which show effectiveness on a dollar
cost basis.

Rant off

I've heard you say that before. The problem I have with that general
opinion, which is not unusual, is that the numbers say the problem
your ranting is far smaller than the public outrage makes it appear.
Then because of the irrational fear we throw out the baby with the
bath water and hurt people who really need help because we're so busy
defending against something that doesn't happen as often as the
whining indicates.

I wish the system was efficient and perfect too, but I don't see that
it's not as a really great reason to stop using a social net, which
works to our advantage despite it's issues.

I am suggesting that more people would support a system that they felt was current and not full of the'issues' (Real or Imagined)

The system lacks creditability and needs too gain the respect and faith of taxpayers once again. Accountability seems to have disappeared for a while.. thieves everywhere.. Get some creditability back in government.

Correction. Get credibility back everywhere..

The government waste issues, police the Social Services and aggressively audit the medical vender's for Medicare..

If they know your on Medicare they load you up with more "approved' stuff for old age accessibility. Then bill the government several times..

Or just drop off stuff you don't really need.. but they say it is 'Free" and you like say Well sure.. and people sell this stuff rather than use it.

I watched this all happen and complained about it.. to deaf ears. Like why should I cared it is free to the patient..

The government is paying.. back off they say.. I get mad as hell because I know they are not using the $660 a month oxygen machine they dropped off 4 years ago.. That adds up. Every time I saw that machine I lost it.. It never went back till the woman died and then they came and picked it up and noted the hobb's meter was still under a hew hours for all those years. $7200 a year wasted there alone.

I talked to other people who were care givers caring for these people and they told me of all kinds of waste... Hospital beds that are not returned because it costs too much. so $3000 beds that could be reused are tossed out.

It is crazy to me. Then people who die with property should have their house go to the government to pay for all this after they die.. but instead people cheat the government out of repayment by deeding their house to someone and have secret hand shake agreements with family or friends to hide the asset from the government upon death.. After the governement has paid over a million in costs to care for this person... allowed her to live at home till she died full care and medicine.. latest gear.. Taxpayers get stuffed.

I am all for helping them during there last years but if it is on our dime they we should get their estate as specified in the law. But it is usually hidden and the government does not aggressively go after it for repayment of all that money taxpayers have spent to keep that old woman alive..

A 'billback' system where the cost of the last year of government-paid healthcare costs in a person's life is netted against their estate would probably return Medicare to solvency.

JG

Those who don't pay taxes abuse the system the worst like they have some entitlements. Disablied is one thing.. Lazy screwed up POS is another issue.
