I hope your new president will bring peace and prosperity. Not bloody likely. I can't even remember the last time a President

or candidate even mentioned peace. Bush promised 30 years of war,
and Obama has shown every sign that he is signed up for the PNAC
program.
But I voted for him anyway because even if he wants to dominate the
world militarily, at least he won't have people tortured. This
makes him a liberal. Ha Ha.
So I voted for a liberal fascist. Obama never said anything about
restoring anyone's rights or following the Constitution or reversing
Bush's reducing Congress to an advisory body. So I assume he will
continue such policies.
Personally, I do not care if the president is republican or democrat
so long as they
respect and uphold the constitution.
I also hope that the election of an African American president will
mend
relationships with many nations by portraying the US as a non-racist,
tolerant
society.

We have lost two generations of black youth to what I would call a pervasive attitude of "why try, whitey will keep me down" in the low income areas and their schools. I've taught in those schools -- the
"why should I care, it won't get me anywhere" mindset is pervasive and
contagious.
If I were still a teacher, I would L O V E to be in a low income black
school right now. I can tell you that EVERY SINGLE TEACHER is now
(well, and has been since the first caucus) saying "don't give me that
bulls(*(*&t! Iowa is 97% white, and a BLACK MAN WON THE STATE! THIS IS
AMERICA! THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN KEEP YOU FROM BEING EQUAL IS YOU!!!."
What a great time to be a teacher.

those that can - do
those that can't - teach
those that can't teach - administrate
still can't fathom why the teacher's union here in california pissed
away $MILLIONS$ of the bargaining unit's money to fight against a
proposition that had no benefit for the bargaining unit ... playing
politics with with bargaining units money pitching the "pro gay
marriage" position on TV radio and print... in a big way
Happens on a national level too. The NEA, fat with contributions because of states that require their teachers to be represented by them, are often the largest single contributor to the Democrat party.
