Whoops!!! Well, "late 1980s" - "early 1980s" = < 10 years!
You see, it's not that hard, you just have to have an IQ over
43 to spot these little "discrepancies"...
Sounds to me, William like your IQ is <= 42 because your ability to
deduce anything is that of an idiot.
OK, what should I deduce from these two posts, "Mr. 44 And
Proud Of It"?

Subject: newbie on options
Hi, I'm a newbie when it comes to options. When there's a quote for an
option, say $1.80, is that per share or per contract, which I understand to
represent an option on 100 shares?
In other other words, if I bot one contract, is that going to cost me $180
or $1.80 plus commission?

And for the record, I have been trading convertible bonds, stocks,
commodities and options for 30 years. I also have a Series 3.

While it is true I actively daytraded in the 1980s, I got involved in
commodity futures in 1971. That happened because Jim Kneafsey, my
thesis advisor at MIT, was also a CTA and left academia to start
Cambridge Commodities (later renamed to Cambridge Financial Services)
in 1973 where I assisted with the software and the trading desk. To
do that level of work one needs a Series 3 permit. You have a problem
with that, "Weed?"
Bingo! As you so correctly put it:
"If I learned anything in 20 years of commodity trading, it's this.
'There is no shortage of charlatans in the futures industry.'"

You know, I used to get "cold calls" from "Commodity Trading
Advisers" (CTAs) all the time back in the 1980s...funniest one was
the guy who called me out of the blue (I think one of my stock brokers
sold them my number, the bastards!) and gave me a "free" tip, said
you just watch, it's going to da moon, then he calls back a few
weeks later after the thing flew right into the ground, limit down
for days on end, and says, "Look, this shows how honest I am,
I could have not called back and admitted it was a bum tip, but
I did, so you should let ME "trade" futures for you!!!"
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! At least you boiler room
guys are occasionally funny...and as I've said, you're the funniest
one of them all, because you actually try to get people to believe
that you've ever been anything other than pure lying cheating lazy
trash for all of your worthless life, and get all hysterical about your
precious "reputation" every time your lies and idiocy are exposed!
This reminds SOOOOOO much of "JBoatFake", and his
autobiography of being a "bond trader" for about two weeks
as his qualifications for giving out trading advice...of course,
as it turned out, he was just another boiler room slimeball
like you, and like you he was so stupid he couldn't figure
out that he was now on the WRONG side of the "trading
desk" (NEVER believe the BS "script" they give you...but
thanks for giving us just a little more ACTUAL insight into
your life...
....but, just curious, this boiler room job, was this before or
after your stints in the New York City Transit Authority and
Union Pacific as a "civil engineer" (also licensed!)?
