'taint nothing wrong with using charts to get a grasp on what has happened to a stock when x happens. Its how we learn in everyday life.
Even fundamentalists, while they may not draw out a chart; Im sure they see what happened to a stock when certain factors were brought into the picture before they decide to go further. Charts just put these events on paper. Some of us are visual (me) learners, some conceptual,and of course some will always just be aholes ;)

If I hade some soft, pliable paper, I'd print the chart(so it would have
some practical application)......
Charts are GREAT for showing the past.....if they could predict the
future(with any consistent accuracy), everyone would use them and then they
wouldn't work.....
