If I hade some soft, pliable paper, I'd print the chart(so it would have
some practical application)......
Charts are GREAT for showing the past.....if they could predict the
future(with any consistent accuracy), everyone would use them and then they
wouldn't work.....
Well, they do give an indication of some sort of track record. Of course they are best used with other info. I use them to narrow down research. I like to research companies and ETF's that have a nice steady overall upward chart and that are also near a 52 week high (all-time high is even better). If they have had steady growth in the past, they just might continue with it. Other data can help with the future predictions including what the company says it expects to earn. Seems to me a few people on this board like to use the stock market to gamble. Why gamble when you don't need to to make money from stocks? Heck, I go to Vegas to gamble. SLG is a long term investment. Manhattan real estate is not going to go down in price in the next few years. ;-) They would have to be some really bad managers to screw it up. Track record looks pretty good to me.
