Hi, I am a long time fan of GATA. I'm writing from Bs. As., Argentina.
I saw this on CNN international just 15 minutes ago (02:30 Buenos Aires
local time).
A frequent guest on CNN International, Paul Donovan of UBS, was brought
in to talk about gold. It was a live interview from what I could tell.
He was in their London studios, talking to Mike Hodson (I think that's
his name). Donovan started talking about why gold had gone up so much,
and after a little of that he stated that investors should be cautious,
though, because central banks have big reserves of gold and they're
using them to control the exchange rates of currencies. He mentioned
their gold selling agreement, and then added that they've been selling
into rallies to cap the price (!). His interviewer was completely
unphased by his statement, as of course was he. He then went on to talk
about non-gold matters.
Before the interview began there was a brief caption saying that gold
had hit $500 and platinum $1000. Must've happened in Asian trading a
few hours ago, since spot gold closed today at $498.30 in New York.
Keep up the good work! I am very thankful for all the information you
have published on Russia's interest in gold, including their recent
GATA endorsement in Alaska by Putin's economic adviser at the precious
metals summit. You all deserve to share the Economic Nobel prize. I
think you'll eventually be recognized for all you've done. Keep it up.
GATA be in it to win it!
