Thanks to Federal Reserve

Thanks to the Federal Reserve's action to reduce interest rates and
expand credit over the past few years, it is now harder than ever
before for Americans to save money -- save for a rainy day, invest for
retirement, whatever. Instead of guaranteed savings (means you are
compensated with good interest representing the real worth of your
money) we have had the lowest interest rates in history.

You get pretty much no interest in a savings account, and government
bonds pay hardly anything either. Instead it is so much easier to
borrow money you need to survive. And that is exactly what most
Americans have done. They save no money, and borrow more money. The
savings rate has gone negative since Greenspan took control at the Fed.
Consumer debt and debt-to-income ratios are at all time highs.

What kinds of results do you get when this happens? Bad times hit
everyone, in one way or another: just a fact of life. You have to have
money saved up to be able to handle the bad surprises in life. Without
savings, and with large debt, you are operating at the brink of
bankruptcy as these people give testimony to. These are not unusual
