California/Federal income tax filing for green card holder who works overseas

I've just received my green card and I live in California. My job is
overseas. I spent average 7 months in the US and 5 months aboard.
How and where can I find out the 2007 federal and state tax filing
information & requirement in my situation ? Thanks, Kinson
