That is incorrect information. You must be a US Permanent Resident for
5 years (minus 90 days) in order to to be eligible to apply for US
citizenship. There are some other requirements too, so make sure you
read up on that.

I'm also curious what status you moved to the USA on? If you came as
the child of a PR, or the stepchild of a USC, wouldn't you get your 10-
year GC when you enter the USA? Why did you have to renew it after only
less than 3 years here?
