HI everyone,
I am currently a G1 Visa Dependent, my father works for the UN and as
a dependent of him I am able to work here in the US until I finish my
higher education and live here until I am 23 as a dependent. (Please
correct me if I am wrong)
I have pretty much spent my entire life here in NY, went to middle
school here, high school and I am now entering my senior year of
college. Once I finish college I will no longer be able to work. I
have interned at such companies such as Smith Barney, Merrill Lynch
and even the NY Yankees.
What options do I have for staying here? Getting a H1 Visa is very
hard to do, most jobs disregard me as soon as I mention it. As far as
I am concerned I am American, what other options do I have, I have
been here for 11 years with all my education also being here am i just
expected to return to England where I have had no life or work
experience? Any help would be great. Thank You.
Dependents of A-1, A-2, G-1, G-3, G-4 and NATO visa holders may be
eligible to work in the United States on derivative A, G or NATO visas.
An application for employment must be made on the form I-566 to the
Department of State through the office, mission, or organization, which
employs the principal alien. If the Department's recommendation is
favorable, the form I-566 will be forwarded to the Department of
Homeland Security, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services
(USCIS) for action. If the application is approved, USCIS will transmit
the employment authorization to the mission, or international
organization
