Im a Brit , ive been a permanent resident in the USA for 8 years. me
and the
girl ive lived with for the past 3 years have just got married and are
planning on moving to england, my question is, is there any way of her
going
to Britain on a visa waiver card, and then changing status once there?
I
know the Brit Immigration Service website says you cant, but so did
the US
INS when i came here ( i had a previous US wife) but thats how i did
it.
does anyone know for sure????

No chance, sorry. She needs a spouse visa before arriving in the UK.

Do you want to keep open the option of returning to the US (easily)
later on? If so, you should strongly consider the pros and cons of
becoming a US citizen before you leave. (including the tax issues).
