1) Yes. Priority date is for you, the beneficiary
2) No. not a problem. under normals circumstances. for 7th year, don't wait
for 6 months. it is risky.
3) Your company can do that. Still shouldnt affect you. It is all based on
INS's position about a petition succeeding under normal review processes. In
any case, don't wait 6 months. negotiate hard.

I am into 7th year of H1b (Got 6+ 3 yrs extension based on I-140
approval). I am discussing a full time opportunity with a big global
company. They agree to transfer the H1b and file my PERM 6 months
thereafter. As per the legal deptt in the prospect company, they
assure that they would be able to transfer the priority date based on
my present I-140 approval after they get the PERM + I-140 approval. I
am seeking help on the following doubts :
1) Is it doable?
2) If it is doable..would it create any problem as the PERM is not
being filed immediately but 6 months after employment.
3) What if within 6 months my present company either revoke my
application or transfer it to someone else.
Please send in your valuable comments / suggestions. Thanks in advance
to everyone.
