Hello,
I am currently traveling through the US on a 90 day visa waiver. I
want to stay for another two months after this period ends in late
June. I know I can't just go to Canada or Mexico and get another
visa
waiver period, so what are my options? I am an Australian citizen,
but
can I go to Montreal, say, and apply for a visitor's visa from
there,
and then re-enter? And how long would this take? Going back to
Australia is not really an option.
Many thanks
Pete
It is not possible to extend your stay on the VWP. You are only
allowed 90 days.

I just wasn't expecting the righteousness, I guess. I was more
expecting a useful response, like the one I got when I asked it in
another group:
'US consulates are usually very reluctant to issue new visas to third-
party
nationals.
On a visa waiver you really do not have any options, apart from trying
to
get another 90 days by leaving an re-entering the US, which is more
than
likely not going to work.

But thanks for lumping me in a group of ignorant and naive people,
anyway.
Huh. Seemed pretty useful to me. Straight and to the point. Oh well....
