If the reasons for delaying immigration were such as you describe, you
would have worded your post differently and explained such (to find
out the ramifications of sponsoring someone with medical issues, to
find out if medical issues are something you're responsible for as a
sponsor, or your spouse is the sponsor? you'd be asking if the visa
could be delayed until they get better, or how long it takes, and
you'd ask if after the visa is issued, if they could chose not to use
it).
You were torn to shreds by posters in the newsgroup because it looked
as though your spouse was sponsoring his family, you got a letter
telling him the application is incomplete, and you were going to
sabotage his efforts by not allowing him to see the letter. It has
nothing to do with whether or not you wanted to sponsor his family or
not, although some people might see it that way. I was annoyed by the
fact you could be married to someone and behave so deceitfully. A lot
of people get upset at their spouse for seeing another partner, I
think what you're doing is just so much worse than a one night stand
while married... (or should I say, what you described in the first
post, since right now I don't really believe anything you say
anymore).

Well, like one poster mentioned I did not mention all the details so
my post came out sounding quite different than the real situation and
it sounded like I was the one who wanted to delay this and for bad
reasons. That is not the case and we did not mean it like that.
Firstly, my spouse is aware of the letter. When I submitted my
question I had just received the letter. He also does not want them to
come here right now.
The reason that we both would prefer the visa delayed is due to
medical reasons that one of the family members is going through. It
would be much less costly for them to receive medical care there and
not in the US due high costs here and as sponsors it would be our
liability. In a few months when these medical issues are over it will
not be a problem. So that is why I was asking about a delay or
temporary hold on the visa. I did not use the appropriate wording or
supply enough information in my first post. My mistake.- Hide quoted text -
