Hurry up an file AOS application for her. Got to www.uscis.gov and read
on Getting Green card on family-based. You don't need a lawyer. In
fact, don't get one since ypour budget it tight as there are
immigration help places. The processing is very fast nowadays.

Don't wait for Biometric either to turn in I-485 application. You can
give that at time of interview. If you don't have all the tax returns
ready, just write a letter and attach that you will provide at the time
of interview for her. You must provide a letter from employer.

Nowadays, you send to the Chicago office. Mail everything certified.
