I submitted my N-400 at Columbus D.O, and thought I'd let you know my
timeline. I became a U.S. Citizen on October 18! There were 49
petitioners from 19 countries.
PD 3/27/05
FP 5/19/05
ID 9/15/05
OD 10/18/05
So, my total time from priority date to oath was about 6 1/2 months. I
did not receive a 'request for evidence'. Browsing other forums, it
looks like many people get a request for evidence if they check any box
in the section that deals with arrests, convictions, citations, etc.
For instance, if you received a speeding citation, and checked the box,
you would be asked to bring evidence to the interview, to show the
nature of the citation, and if the fine was paid.
There is a three page thread listing the Columbus timeline on another
immigration forum:
http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=130256&page=1&pp=15
(You might want to skip the first five posts, as they were written last
year, and the processing times at Columbus are faster now.)
I have to say, the officers and staff I dealt with at Columbus for
fingerprinting, interview and oath ceremony were WONDERFUL! For each
appointment, they were professional, but friendly. They really had a
way of putting me at ease. I hope everyone else who is processing
their applications through the Columbus office has an experience as
pleasant as I did!
All the best!
