OT -- Television / Movies / Internet / My Life

For my entire life, one of the most depend-
able comforts for me has been the escape
available via television / movies, followed
much later by the escape available via the
internet.
I'd say I've spent almost every 'free' moment
of my life (apart from when I was married
or when I was into reading books) watching
television or movies or once the internet
became available, browsing / writing via the
internet.
Of course, recent news reports have warned
about that, but I assure you, among the plea-
sures that I'd be willing to give up to try to
come closer to what people without any
glucose anomaly experience, television (aside
from a short period after college graduation) /
movies / the internet (well, financially strug-
gling, I may have gone off the internet at
some point in the past, but if so, I didn't
stay off for very long) are *not* among
them.
Recently, Netflix and Hulu Plus have made
the array of entertainment widely and afford-
ably available much larger than it's ever been.
At Hulu Plus, the addition of the WB network,
most of their shows which I following with
intense interest, especially Vampire Diaries,
all I can say is wow, thank you (to the WB
and to Hulu Plus). They also have past shows
(some) available on Netflix (for example, the
first 2 years of Vampire Diaries) streaming,
although most older shows (I think) like
Smallville are only available via DVD.
Anyway, sure, I'm alone and have been
most of my life (apart from 3 years of mar-
riage), but via the entertainment / informa-
tion venues available via television / movies /
the internet, probably all of that deserves a
lot of credit for (most often, not always) mak-
ing my loneliness less problematic than it
otherwise would be.
Of course, reading books, something I passed
on to my daughter, who became an avid book
reader due (in no small part) to my influence,
I need to get back into that, but not sure when
or if I'll do so. I do have a large library I bought
back when I had a lot more money, so if I choose
to do so, I've got plenty to choose from.
Anyway, not really any glucose anomaly point
in this post, just sharing and offering thanks to
everyone involved in the above.
By the way, if I'm willing to once again adven-
ture into the relationship realm, there is one
extremely attractive lady that I may ask out,
-but- I haven't yet (although a friend recom-
mended a method) done so. Simply put, just
asking her out. Wonder why I didn't think
of that. :-) Oh well, don't know her name,
don't have her phone number, so next time
I see her I'll have to ask her out, along with
getting her name and phone number.
