The problem is that the lab that conducted the blood and urine test failed
to list the reference ranges for urine sodium, urine potassium or urine
chloride. It's my understanding that many labs use this book to determine
their reference ranges:
"Tiez Textbook of Clinical Chemistry".
It's my guess that the reference ranges for those three items are not in
that book and that is the reason that those reference ranges were not
written on the urine test. Do you agree or disagree with me? If you have
that book, could you list the reference ranges for those three items or at
least tell me whether or not those reference ranges are in that book.

I disagree with you. I do not have that book. And I've been told by all of
my Drs. you can not compare one set of labs to another if they are different
labs. Have you tried calling the lab and asking for the reference range?
The lab my GP uses didn't used to list the range and I found that to be
greatly annoying. Now they do. People must have complained.

That is great advice. I may do that on Monday. It's my guess that they
will tell me to ask my doctor. My web search indicated that there are NO
reference ranges for spot checks of urine electrolytes. I have a book
entitled, "Lab Test Handboook" (Authors: Dr. David Jacobs and two other
doctors). Many doctors have that same book in their offices. That book
does NOT have reference ranges for spot checks of urine sodium, urine
potassium or urine chloride. It' my conclusion that those reference ranges
are not in any reference book.
Thanks for our advice,
jason
