A WORKFORCE STUDY IN ENDOCRINOLOGY
A Model to Determine Workforce Needs for Endocrinologists in
the United States Until 2020

Extract from the abstract

"An interactive model of factors likely to influence the
balance between the supply and demand of endocrinologists
during the next 20 yr was constructed. The model used data
from a wide range of sources and was developed under the
guidance of a panel of experts derived from sponsoring
organizations of endocrinologists.

These data suggest that steps should be taken to stop the
ongoing decline in the number of endocrinologists in
training and consideration should be given to actions
designed to increase the number of endocrinologists in
practice in the years ahead."

It's all very well for some to always recommend that you see
an endo; first you will need to find one.

It will never be a problem because the majority of diabetics could
care less that they have the disease and will never seek out an endo.

Aren't you the jerk that consistently recommends that type 2 DMs see an endocrinologist when the availability of such specialists in short supply. Get real.

And, once again Alan, you are posting about something in the United
States. Worry about your own little corner of the world.

Your corner of the world is type 1 DM. Why don't you limit yourself
instead of being a pain where a pill won't reach. That way you would be meddling with 90-95% less diabetics. You just don't get it.
