Hi everyone. I am type 2 diabetic for approximately the past 15
months. I have been taking 500 mg metformin x 2, and recently, my
doctor prescribed lisinopril, an ace inhibitor for my blood pressure.
He mentioned the affects of protecting kidneys with this medication. I
currently have no kidney disease, but I was curious about that added
benefit. Do meds of this type offer long term kidney protection?

I take that. I began showing protein in my urine so my Dr. upped the
Lisinopril and I cut back a bit on the protein I was eating. No more
protein in the urine.
