Re: Complications due to diabetes?

Yes, but theories and medicines go on changing now and then, do not
persist much. So anything can be possible unless we have long histories
and don't get serious complications inspite well treated.

We have well equiped natural processes in our body to take care all
sorts of disorders. We are not sure if we get complications due to
these disorders or interfering these natural processes due to wrong
treatments.

I badly need to understand effect of excessive exposure of glucose,
insulin and other nutrients to target tissues on adding more and more
insulin?

Following actions of insulin are very important in this respect:-

"Increased potassium uptake -[insulin] forces cells to absorb serum
potassium; lack of insulin inhibits absorption.
Arterial muscle tone - [insulin]forces arterial wall muscle to relax,
increasing blood flow, especially in micro arteries; lack of insulin
reduces flow by allowing these muscles to contract.

Guess what.
I have been experiencing spasms that can be corrected with oral
input of potassium.. My doc says my test shows normal potassium
levels and has questioned my use of extra potassium...

I will show him this.

Your curiosity shows me you are ahead of me.. Continue
on your course. Most of us deal with the clerical aspects
And I almost always discover someone has already covered
most of my "original" ideas.

The DCCT Studies got us past some false or questionable
things Now we go from there.

When I started, I read a book dedicated to the
concept that complications were caused by the insulin
and high blood sugars did no harm.
