Sleep deprivation is a form of stress. Your liver will respond to
stress by releasing extra sugar. If you can't supply the extra insulin to
handle these releases, your sugars will jump all over the place.
Morning/Dawn Effect sugars are particularly affected. I can jump from
below 5 mmol/L (90 mg/dL) to over 12 mmol/L (216 mg/dL) during the dawn
hours if I awake early and can't go back to sleep.
I can't remember your current therapy. If you are not using insulin, I
would expect the addition of a shot or two of basal insulin would help. I
suggest that the basal shot(s) would carry some of the load and allow your
lesser supplies of self-generated insulin to attack the lesser remaining
remaining peaks.
You may have inadvertently put your own name into your news killfile.
That would filter out your posts while allowing you to see replies.
