Huh. It's also the active ingredient in Adolph's Meat Tenderizer.


Adolph's uses papain, an enzymatic extract from the papaya, as its main ingredient. Same stuff they tried as an injectable to dissolve slipped discs. Another medical use is to dissolve/dislodge a chunk of meat stuck in your esophagus.
