>>Last year, researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health found that drinking coffee cut the risk of developing the most common form of diabetes.
Men who drank more than six 8-ounce cups of caffeinated coffee per day lowered their risk of type 2 diabetes by about half, and women reduced their risk by nearly 30 percent, compared with people who did not drink coffee, according to the study in Annals of Internal Medicine. <<
If I would drink six 8-ounce cups of caffeinated coffee per day, my BP would jump up and my nose would bleed.

I'm with you. Eight cups of caffeinated coffee per day and I would never sleep again. I can barely manage two half-caffeinated cups a day, and only if I drink them before 2 PM.
My guess has long been that these studies have it backwards. Being ABLE to drink 8 cups of coffee probably points to a person having a genetic profile that is less likely to go with the development of type 2 diabetes.
So the caffeine tolerance is a marker of a healthy condition, not the cause of it.
People with Type 2 often have elevated cortisol levels, which might be one reason that they can't tolerate high levels of caffeine since they are already too stimulated.
Of course, it is always worth remembering that there are a lot of different genetic flaws which cause type 2 diabetes. It is NOT a single condition, so the cortisol connection might not hold for all of us.

Most of the time I don't pay attention to these flash news, what media is bombarding us constantly, like "Milk is good for you" "Eat lot of fruit" "Low fat" "Low carb" etc...
Few years ago the "green tea" craze went around, high in de-oxidant, now they trying pump up the coffee. It's been known, coffee cause high blood pressure, that's why the decaf came around.
Suggesting that 8 cup of coffee a day is good for you, prevent cancer is absurd. They praying on insecure people, in fear of getting cancer.
Ha! They just saying it on the news, on TV about the coffee.
Media jumps on some thing and they keep pumping it, so they get the coffee price up.
