Explain to me why elemental potassium doesn't occur in nature?

Did you read what you quoted? "[B]ecause it reacts violently with
water".

Is it because any elemental potassium has already reacted and turned
into whatever it turns into - gas, water, whatever - near the earth's
surface where there is plenty of water?
Perhaps deeper in the earth there are pockets of elemental potassium
that haven't yet reacted with water. Ever think of that? No, I guess
not.

Anybody familiar with the chemistry of potassium doesn't have to think
of things that it is impossible for potassium to do.

However, the comment that elemental potassium doesn't occur in nature
because it reacts violently with water, doesn't mean it doesn't exist
but merely that it isn't "found" because by the time it is "found" it
has been reacted upon and no longer exists.

If there is no water around, potassium will react with lots of other
things. That is why it is almost impossible to even see metallic
potassium - as soon as it is exposed to the air it reacts with the
oxygen. Put it in contact with hot rocks and it will react with the
elements in the rocks.

So at some point the elemental potassium would have reacted with water
or air, right?

Or with stuff in the hot rocks Carole. Do try to read the words
please.

There is no real evidence that the earth is melton iron at the core or
that it gets hotter the further you go below the surface. The deepest
drilling is only about 10km deep and geologists were surprised to find
that not much matched their expectations.

No need to answer, we get the picture that deep within the bowels of
the earth, there may still be some reactions going on that involve
potassium.
Thank you for your input.

Thank you for ignoring reality.

Thank you for ignoring your reality?
You're welcome martin.

I think he meant ignoring reality in general.
In other words, he's saying you don't know what you're talking about.

Have a nice day, Carole.

Exactly!
