Yes, you will have to take your 'mercury' (I assume you mean
Thimerosal, there is not and never has been elemental mercury in
vaccines) on the side, since it is no longer in the flu shot.

You presume correctly - mercury is thimerosal, same thing, no confusion there except a different name.

Apparently there is mercury in flu shots, and they give them to children.
