I agree you have a valid point on this Jan. It damages the
record to not archive the message.

The problem comes up when your postings, posted in good faith, become
the object of use for stalkers and harassers.

We can agree that stalking isn't pleasant thing.

So what do call it when a person posts personal information which is
not germane tot he discussion.

Just because I stated or argue a point doesn't always mean I believe
or that opinion is engraved in stone.

Yes, I get that as I've changes some of my views over time.
Some becoming a bit more mainstream and others coming to
clearly differ from mainline practices. It is my assumption
that some people can change views or at least become open
to somewhat different views which why I try for at least a bit of
content in postings at times.

Yes, it does. And wisdom makes one somewhat
careful as to comments though at times I go
further than I would in person. But even in person
a number of people have called me an iconoclast.
Nor do I take some special pride in that aspect
of self rather it is just something just is.
The ancient wisdom literature praises the merits or
wisdom of silence and of weighing one words.


This is a discussion medium, not a record.

You can wish but it is both. It is a record of
discussion. Perhaps you shift it a bit in
your direction by erasing your posting off of
the Google record/archive/hard disk/memory.
