rare form of lung cancer

My wife Rose has been diagnosed as having Salivary Gland Type Lung
Cancer, a very rare one - only 1 in a 1000 lung cancers are of this
type.
She has had a lung removed.
In surgery it was found the cancer had spread to her lymph glands
which were also removed.
The concern now is that if the cancer had got this far may it have
spread elsewhere in her body? We have been told there is a 50/50
chance the cancer may have spread.
Chemotherapy has been discussed with the consultant yeaterday, but
there is no evidence that chemo is effective with this type of cancer.
If it has spread the prognosis is not good as surgery would not be an
option.
I am finding out what I can now about any alternative treatments which
may help in preventing this cancer coming back.
Has anyone here had this type of cancer, or know of anyone who has
whom I could get in contact with?
Many thanks,
Pat Mahoney
