Alarming Statistic on Source of Prescription Drugs in the U.S.

80% of all drugs prescribed in the U.S. are manufactured in other countries
More than 560 Chinese facilities produce prescription drugs for the U.S. market
FDA inspected less than 3% of these off-shore prescription drug facilities last year

And how does the oversight and quality assurance for the
materials referenced compare to that for regulated
pharmaceuticals?

Offhand, I'm not seeing that the bad news on sloppy Chinese
regulation and inspection of heparin and the like does
anything to improve the picture on Chinese products that
don't even pretend to be regulated or inspected.
