Does it seem odd that these people are Sooooooo dedicated to saving us from
our use of Alternatives? I can understand that they might check in from time
to time, take a few snipes and then go back to whatever they call a life.
But these guys are here everyday, and night, and weekends too. Now that is
some serious dedication! I think it indicates one or more of a few reasons.
ONE: The ever popular getting paid to do it. Doubtful. TWO: They believe the
trash they spew. To some degree I think yes. THREE: They are nasty social
rejects who like the love starved child, will do bad things for attention,
any kind of attention will do. I think number three has the best chance of
being the true reason. Think about it, they come to an Alternative group
everyday to put down Alternatives. Classic attention grab.

The drug and food industries, in particular, use "astroturfing" on the
Internet as a cost-effective means at PR in order to shape public
opinion.  Google the term as it relates to "grass roots populism."
This is neither dedication nor personal interest, but profession.
Industry cannot leave to chance what you think.

PeterB,

If I read the archives correctly, you are the one and only person who
has ever admitted that he gets paid by the supplement industry to post
here. The internet never forgets! But kudos for your honesty.

If that were true, Martin, I would say so. My time here is
voluntary. I talk about the importance of consumer rights and free
market access to natural medicine because these issues affect me
personally; they also affect public health generally.

That's not what you said some time ago. You said something like 'we
are going to take action', 'we' being the supplement industry. When
confronted with that, you responded along the lines of 'so what I get
paid to be here, the people on the other side are too and it does not
invalidate my points'.
