are already 'poisoned' with the modern allopathic concept of a disease

PM This is the "we don't think of illness that way" ploy. Just about everyone, including alternative practitioners and even most homeopaths recognises the validity of the usual medical classification of diseases into aetiological (look it up) and pathological types. Everyone can observe for themselves that cancer is a somewhat different thing to an anxiety state, and measles is different to diabetes, and deduce that such differences mean very different approaches will be needed in treatment. And our patients definitely know what the word "cure" means; only charlatans try to create confusion about that.

Not so with classical homeopathy and most other alternative modalities, where illness is defined and treated according to concepts that lack any point of coincidence with external reality. Even when knowledge is borrowed from the discoveries of scientific medicine, such as that of nutrition and immunity, it becomes transfomed into obsessive, quasi-spiritual quests for perfection and, for some, the ultimate cure-all.

The advantage of WDTOITW is that you can avoid having to discuss what your system of medicine can actually do. You can talk in vague generalisations about medicine forever. You will even be able to help some people with some kinds fo complaint, but via placebo effects and non-specific medical nurturing, not through any intrinsic qualities of the remedies used.
