Hate to break the news to you, but your lumping osteopaths in
with the woo brigade kind of dates your argument as being
almost a century old.

There is, or at least should be, one standard and one standard
only for a healthcare practice: is it as well supported by a
objective quality metrics as we demand of manufacturing processes?
I direct your attention to, for instance, the Deming Institute.

Granted, we are much more likely to demand the best for our cars
than for our bodies (consider how many people insist on premium
fuel while eating junk food.) Still, from an ethical perspective
it's hard to justify setting a lower standard for quality control
for the care of machinery than for the care of humanity.

We know how to measure, and systematically improve, quality.
The question for each school of practice is, does it happen?
