I think the best strategy is to ignore the people who come to
disparage alternative medicine. I think feeding the trolls adds to
the noise. It is frustrating of course because third parties may come
and confuse their posts with 'concerned' or curious posters or people
with valid information. But they will continue to be confused in the
added sea of back and forth with the trolls. There is a great deal of
hatred out there, not simply the skepticism and concern about 'quacks'
but a real hatred that has always been there for people who do not
accept certain authorities, like the church, as the only authority.
Ignoring them contributes to our own strength. Their identity is
wrapped up in the negation of alternatives - and I mean this term in
its broadest sense. Their identity is wrapped up in negation. If
their hatred does not get a rise out of you or us, they literally have
less identity. They do not have much life in an of themselves and
need you reactions to feel alive.
This is my gut feeling. I appreciate your posts and respect your
decision whether you decide to keep responding to them or not.
take care
