I thank God for the pharmacy industry and our health care system.
You should be thanking god for you natural ability to heal. I
appreciate the efforts of most doctors, but drugs, at best, can only
buy you a little time.
I would have died many years ago otherwise.
Perhaps the emergency care you received in 1980 was necessary to save
your life, but for everything else, it's silly to think you weren't
just damned lucky. There are more than 100,000 prescription drug-
related deaths in the US each year, and in the absence of no risk-
adjusted data proving drugs and surgery save more lives than they
take, I remain a skeptic.
BTW, I am a scientist, I have a Ph.D in chemistry, and worked as a
research chemist for many years.
A scientist knows that personal experience is anecdotal, meaning your
opinion is no better than anyone else's.
Altnernative medicine is CRAP!
Then the best drugs are crap, as the most effective drugs are modeled
on phytochemicals found in nature. The further manufactured drugs get
from a natural analogue, the more dangerous and lethal they become.
ALL medicine is based on the principles of biochemistry, not simply
chemistry; that's why nutrients, not drugs, are the only *true*
medicine.
Medicine, a science is continually seeking for new and better ways of
helping people.
It would be more accurate to say that some people in the medical field
have a genuine interest in helping people. The medicine industry, by
and large, is a profit machine known for commoditizing disease and
looking for ways to enrich itself at the expense of the sick.
Emergency medicine is the only consistent exception to that.
If there is anything of value in alternative medicine
it will be adopted and become a treatment.
If you mean natural medicine, there is nothing to adopt. Natural
medicine is thousands of years old. Of course, in genetic terms, it's
billions of years old, as we have evolved to utilize the various
nutrients god gave us. Most disease is a result of nutrient
insufficiency or deficiency. I'm afraid you've confused nature with a
false "alternative," one manufactured by the drug makers, whose
nostrums will typically bend disease markers but leave the disease
untouched.
and it really concerns me that some of what is posted here may cause
people to not seek proper medical care.
I think your concepts of "proper," "medical," and "care" are all
seriously flawed.
